Diabetes in Dogs

Similarly to people, dogs can also suffer from diabetes. This metabolic disease consists of the pancreas producing too little insulin, which means that the carbs are not processed very well. The resulting excessive blood sugar content can cause organ damage over time. There can be changes in the eyes and even blindness, damage to the nerves, kidneys and heart disease, these only being some of the possible consequences of untreated diabetes.

Diabetes results from a disturbed interaction of the glands that produce hormones and the autonomic nervous system. The insufficient insulin secretion in the pancreas leads to the carbohydrates contained in the diet not being burned completely, causing the blood sugar level to rise and the sugar to be eliminated through the urine. The symptoms of diabetes develop gradually over a long period of time. The
first disease symptoms such as increased thirst, intense hunger, reduced capacity and increased urine output occur gradually and can easily be overlooked. The so-called diabetes can be detected very easily through laboratory tests. Typical features include increased blood sugar levels and the presence of sugar in the urine. Diabetes reduces the effectiveness of the immune system, thereby increasing the dog’s susceptibility to disease.

For dogs, the diagnosis of diabetes has a number of consequences. First of all, they probably need a lifetime supply of regular insulin, which may be adapted to the changes in hormone levels. The blood sugar levels in a diabetes affected dog must be checked and adjusted constantly just like with people. Only then can long-term damages be delayed or avoided. Some accompanying therapeutic measures must be adhered to if a dog suffers from diabetes.

The most important is the attitude of the animal and then reaching the optimal body weight. A strict discipline with regard to feeding, the feed amounts and the timing of feeding is to be developed and maintained. The medicinal properties of the insulin preparation, in particular the duration and the effective date, must be included in this concept, too. The mental and physical stress of the sick animal should be minimized. For example, unusually burdensome walks are to be avoided. The weakening of the immune system by diabetes affects the health status of the dog. In particular, the urinary tract is susceptible to infection. Therefore, regular blood counts and urine tests are advisable.

About every other dog suffering from diabetes also presents cataract, a massive weakening of the eyesight, and even experiences blindness. The correct setting and continuous monitoring of diabetes can slow the formation of turbidity. There is no regression method once the dog presents cataract. Only surgical treatment can help the animal with its sight in this stage. In contrast to human diabetics, complications of the renal nerves are extremely rare in sick dogs.

The monitoring of the blood glucose levels can be done at home. The so-called home monitoring involves drinking and urine, the amount of sugar in the urine and blood being monitored in the long term. The occurrence of a hypoglycemic shock (hypoglycemia) due to low blood sugar levels is also possible in dogs suffering from diabetes. The symptoms of hypoglycemia are severe hunger, restlessness, tremors and convulsions disturbed by movement patterns that can lead to a coma.

A hypoglycemic shock is an emergency and thus must be countered immediately. This can be through food availability, the instilling of a sugar solution into the cheek pouch of the dog or delivery of sugar cubes under the tongue. If these methods are not successful, you should go see a veterinarian right away.

The 10 Myths of Making Money on the Internet

You are bombarded with offers that claim that you can earn money on the Internet quickly and easily every day, often with a 'proven' system. Unfortunately, it is not as easy as you could think. Here is the truth behind the 10 myths about how to build a business on the Internet:

Myth no. 1: It is easy... Everyone does it.

Of course, a lot of people have tried to start a business online, but how many of them actually held on to it and earned a reasonable profit? It is not unusual when you see the estimates that 85-95% of all Internet businesses fail within the first year. An online business is still a business. The beginning could be more affordable than a traditional 'pave-and-mortar', but an online business also has its own challenges and laws.

Myth no. 2: You only have to work a couple hours a day.

How many business owners do you know who work only a few hours a day, especially at the beginning of the adventure? You have to learn a lot in order to build a long term profitable online business. Many hours and hard work are needed for each type of enterprise, even on the web.

Myth no. 3: Build a website and conquer the masses.

Consider this: There are literally billions of sites on the Internet. Your tiny little website must somehow stand out among the rest. This is not an easy task! It is essential that any Internet business owner learns how to compete effectively with the rest of the websites and how to make people really curious and not just those who surf a little continuously, but also those who have a keen interest in your products and services.

Myth no. 4: You can run free!

An Internet business is still a business and every business requires an investment. Online marketing can be much cheaper, but not everything can be done without costs. Even the very foundations of how to register a domain and to promote your site come with costs you have to pay every year.

Myth no. 5: It is quick.

Success is not built overnight and very few earn instant profits. Anyone can create a website and launch a website for the business, but they need time to learn how to attract visitors to their pages and then they can turn them into profitable customers.

Myth no. 6: It is perfect because you never have to deal with people.

The e-mail is certainly a nice tool, but e-mail messages are easy to forget and hard to write. You cannot create a shield between you and the visitors. Even if you do most of your business via e-mail, there will be times when it would be appropriate to talk with someone by phone or even face to face.

Myth no. 7: You have a lot of free time and flexibility.

You could have these things, but only after you have invested time and effort to get your online business to the point where you do not have to monitor it constantly. Realistically, this may take years. Until then, you have to do what most people do when they build a business: learn to make profits and apply the same rules for a long period of time.

Myth no. 8: You make money even when you sleep.

Of course you can make money online even when you sleep, but you must learn how the relevant parts of your business are automated before your online business wins a fixed stream of visitors and profitable customers. Even the most beautiful site with the most incredible products is profoundly useless if people cannot find it.

Myth no. 9: You must follow a guaranteed 'system' to become successful.

There is no such system that can 'guarantee' your success. Not even the very best information in the world can be used unless you use it! You are individuals with particular sets of skills, experience and interests. No 'system' can take care of all the differences.

Myth no. 10: You will make a fortune on the Internet.

Maybe you will. Are you ready to engage upon this adventure?

The Language of the Players in Online Poker Chat Rooms

Online poker rooms put a chat at the disposal of their players so that they can talk to each other and exchange a few comments about the parties and in particular the decisions of play. The chat room makes the game livelier and gives the parties a more user-friendly dimension. Moreover, the language used by players in online poker rooms is quite specific, enabling the creation of a community of players.

Comments on the play of an opponent

Comments during poker games on the internet include the congratulation of an opponent. These comments make the atmosphere more relaxed and help you to meet other players, especially the regulars of the site. These are not included in the basic poker rules but it's a matter of humanity. A good image is important in a poker room if you want to participate in tournaments, especially in private ones. Otherwise, you are put on the black list of unwanted players.

Congratulating a player

Some moves made by you or your opponents throughout the poker games may be particularly impressive and deserve some positive comments and even praise. You can launch a WP or GP standing for Well Played and Good Play when the player has developed an excellent game. In the event that a player has played well but still lost the game, you can find a good formula like GG (Good Game) to congratulate him.
In the event that the game was won after the revival of a player who encouraged everyone to fold, then the abbreviation NB (nice bet) is the most suited. Finally, you can congratulate the player for keeping the right cards in hand and sends him a GD (good hand) or NH (nice hand). A superlative can be added to these abbreviations in the event of a hand or a particularly well played game.

Compassion in case of a bad hand

It is also possible to win a party because of a stroke of luck at the expense of an opponent who had much better cards in his hand. You can send a BS (bad stroke) and stay fair-play and type SRY for sorry or UL for unlucky.
image of online poker.
The forms of politeness

It also happens that players congratulate you on your game when you win certain games but with a certain reserve. Find different abbreviations for sending thanks in response to these congratulation comments. Also, stay friendly. It is important to remain courteous from the moment you come to the table until the moment you leave it. So, do not forget to greet everyone with a simple “Hello, guys,” when you arrive. You will see that it makes all the difference in the world.

Thank the players

When a player sends his congratulations, the least you can do is respond with abbreviations like thx, tx or a simple Thank you. In case you lost the game and a player admits that your game was good, you can answer with YW, which stands for you’re welcome.

Leave the poker table

You should not just go if you have to leave a table after playing for quite a long time, especially if you win. Use the abbreviation GTG for Got to go.

Other phrases used in the poker chat rooms

There are also specific terms you can come across in the chat room. Note that writing in capital letters means that you are shouting. Many players like to announce their game before the showdown to destabilize their opponents. This also applies when two players go all in.

Common pokers expressions

When a player loses the game with a pair of aces in hand, the players usually announce Cracked to express some dismay. As for a player who has bad luck against an opponent, he can always take it with irony by launching a LOL (laugh out loud) or by laughing using an onomatopoeia like Hehe.

Hiring Plumber Professionals for Plumbing

Having faulty plumbing is one of the most challenging circumstances that you can face at home. There are different kinds of plumbing issues that can come up - clogged drains, leaky faucets and sewer damages. These are serious plumbing issues that have to be tended to before they worsen. In such circumstances, the best solution is to hire the services of a professional plumbing service provider. Plumbing and installation tasks are best done by professionals. They have the training and the skills required to carry out these tasks effectively. When you hire a professional plumber, you stand to benefit in several ways. On the surface, some issues may appear to be simple malfunctions. However, there can be serious underlying issues that can get complicated if you try quick fixes and if it is not handled immediately. For instance, when you encounter a clogged drain, it is likely that you may try to clear it using hot water. If the problem does not solve immediately or it recurs, it is likely that there is a block that needs to be removed. Dismissing it can elevate the problem and cause serious issues to the plumbing. A professional plumber will be able to identify the problems underlying what appears to be a simple one and fix them before they become big. Doing this, will save you the cost of tending to the damage that such situations could lead to. Sometimes, it is possible that the plumbing parts for a fixture are not available in the market. In that case, you may end up buying parts that don’t suit the fixture and the problem will continue. Make sure that you can visit http://www.plumbingsupplyhouse.com/ for you to know more about this.

Image of plumbing. This can be quite risky, because, even a simple problem like a leaky tap, can cause complications in such situations. If it is allowed to drip, it can result in water logging damage that can compromise the internal structure of you house. A professional will know the right parts that can be used for fixing a plumbing issue. Also, in case these are not available in the market, they will know what parts can substitute the originals. When you hire a professional plumber to take care of the issues, you can also ask him to look at the plumbing system in your house. The plumber will be able to identify whether a particular aspect of the plumbing can pose issues in the future and what steps can be taken to prevent it. This can be especially useful if the plumbing in your house is quite old. The professional plumber will be able to give you expert opinions on which parts of the plumbing are intact and which need to be changed.  The plumber will also be able to offer advice on the latest products in the market that can be used for updating the system. This will help you save on the money that the old fixtures could be costing you. For example, an outdated water heater could be consuming a lot of energy, which in turn could run up your electricity bills. The plumber may advise you to install one of the latest heaters, most of which use less energy and are more environment friendly, compared to the old models. The plumber's opinions can be extremely beneficial especially if you are getting your house remodeled.

If you hire a professional plumber for plumbing and are satisfied with his services, you can call him for any plumbing issues that come up in the future.Opting for one company's service for all the plumbing needs in your home can be beneficial for you for several reasons. Firstly, you will be familiar with the plumbers, their services and the way they interact with you. These factors are likely to put you at ease when it comes to your house's plumbing requirements. Secondly, the plumber will have an idea of the plumbing system in your house, its history of problems, the issues he has dealt with and the limitations of the system. With his knowledge of these aspects, he will be able to offer solutions that are apt and comprehensive. When you hire a professional plumbing service provider, there are a few key aspects to look for. Here are some of them. Opt for a service provider that provides you with free estimates. This way, you can shop for rates, and you will get to find out which company's services are most economical. A visit to www.plumbingsupplyhouse.com can surely help.

Image of plumbing. To get a free estimate, you will have to provide the company with information on the issues you are facing with plumbing. Most companies have online application forms that you can easily fill out. To get the most accurate estimates, provide the right details about the issue. Also, to ensure that the estimates the different companies give you are for the same problem, provide the same details to all of the companies. The service provider you hire should be capable of offering quick services. This can be extremely crucial if you are facing big problems. For instance, if a tap is leaking too much and water is overflowing from the sink onto the kitchen floor, you will have to find a company that can fix the problem immediately. In such situations, the best option is to hire a service provider in a locality near you, rather than one farther away. The professional plumber located closer to your house has a better chance of reaching your house faster when compared to the one who stays far away.

A few plumbing and installation service providers are dedicated to ensuring customer satisfaction. Some service providing companies offer discounts to special groups of people like war veterans and senior citizens. So, if you are part of such a group, select a company that offers special privileges. Companies also provide special discount coupons to customers availing their plumbing services for the first time. Others offer discount coupons to customers who opt to get a special brand of fixture installed in their home. The professional who attends to the plumbing issues in your house, should be an expert in that aspect. Trained and certified professionals will have the know-how and skills to handle the plumbing issue accurately. Also, it is important to opt for a company that has been certified by accreditation bodies like Better Business Bureau. Certifications indicate how reliable and consistent a company is. You can verify whether the company you intend to hire has a certification by checking for it on its website. Most certifications are provided online, so you will get to conveniently verify whether the company is accredited or not. Before you hire a service provider, look through some of the testimonials that other customers have given the company. This will give you an idea of what their experiences have been with the service provider. To a certain extent, testimonials will give you the chance to verify whether the company provides the key services it claims to be capable of offering. Most service providers feature these testimonials on their website, making it easy for you to access them. Also, ask the company for a few referrals. Talking to the company's other customers will serve the same purpose as the testimonials. However, talking to a customer of the company gives you an additional advantage - you get to ask specific questions on their experience with the company.

Pilates Exercises and Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy and Pilates have a lot in common and are both a great way to deal with joint pains and muscular problems. If you have ever broken an ankle or another bone, or twisted a joint in any way, then you will likely have been sent to a physiotherapist. Here you will have had the joint manipulated and massaged and will likely have been given a range of different exercises to perform in order to strengthen the muscle and to loosen the joint and tendons. If you've ever been to Pilates on the other hand then you will likely have experienced many of the same things.

Here you will have been instructed to perform various exercises during the class while your instructor demonstrates them at the front of the class; many of these will have been taxing on your muscles and will have trained your core, your thighs, your buttocks and more which can help to give you a great toned and firm physique. At the same time you will likely have been shown how to stretch correctly and limber up and your balance and flexibility will be improved as a result. Just like physiotherapy, you will also be encouraged to train using these exercises at home to keep the muscle toned and to improve posture and other aspects of the problem.

This all works because hurting your joint in this way actually causes far wider damage than just damage to the bone or tendon and can have repercussions all throughout the body. For instance if you twist your ankle then this can leave you with a chipped bone or damaged tendon and you will likely find that you have a lot of swelling and other things to contend with. This then can have other effects on your body - first you are likely to find that you start limping in order to try and make up for the swollen ankle and this will mean that you begin walking with a poor posture. This can then in turn mean that you muscle developed more on one leg than on the other and that it wastes on the side with the damaged ankle.

At the same time when you are limping you will be using the good leg in different ways to how you would normally - your posture will be wrong and the weight will be coming down in a different way. On its own this can cause a stress fracture on that leg over time, but it can also cause the muscles to develop unusually on that side to adapt to this. This then might mean that you start to find your quads are stronger than your hamstrings for instance, and this can put uneven pressure on your spine damaging the rest of your posture and causing back ache.

Your weaker ankle is also going to now be less easy to balance on as well as weaker and that means it's much more prone to future injury unless it is re-strengthened and it's not uncommon to find that you end up damaging this area time and again. Thus any exercises addressing the problems need to focus on strengthening muscle, improving balance, aiding flexibility and generally improving every aspect of the ankle.

Portable Wheelchair Ramps

One of the most difficult aspects of living a life in a wheelchair is the access to the houses, shops and other public places. While new buildings and general services, such as parks, are especially designed for the disabled, older homes and shops are virtually inaccessible and too expensive to adapt. However, with the increasing population of wheelchair-bound citizens, providing means for greater independence, participation in daily activities and an improved quality of life are mandatory.

Image of wheelchair ramps.People survive previously fatal accidents thanks to the advancements in medical technology and the elderly live longer. Thus, the increasing need for wheelchair ramps cannot be questioned. The ramps can support the weight of an electric wheelchair and its owner. Movable ramps for the disabled are a previously non-existent adventure. Here is a list of movable ramps and their particular use:

1. Case - the wheelchair ramps are pivoted and can reach half the size of a suitcase when folded. The suitcase ramp has ascending/descending curbs. A small ramp is one or two steps less than a foot high. The ramp must be able to accomodate the folding wheelchair.

2. Multi-fold - the long portable ramp for transporting the disabled from one place to another can be folded. The design is based on 1-3 steps or the handling tends to be two feet in length.

3. Train - the one-piece, 20-inch ramp overcomes 1-3 steps. A ramp has a 2-inch border to prevent the wheels from leaving the ramp and any painful injuries.

4. Threshold - the two front wheels of small folding wheelchair can turn 360 degrees, the chair often having seemingly insignificant barriers. It is extremely difficult to enter a residence in such metal or wooden sleepers, 1-6 feet in height. Thus, threshold wheelchair ramps have the width of a standard door.

5. Rail - rail ramps are a compact solution for loading the disabled in a van or an SUV. Although an accessible van is the ideal solution for transporting the handicapped, the electronic equipment is very expensive. The ramp is placed strategically on the back or side entrance to a van or an SUV and the chair is slightly upward to level out with the support.

6. Modular - although still considered movable, modular ramps are a durable and economical solution to provide wheelchair accessibility. The ramps can be designed to fit any situation, whether the user has to turn a corner or move straight forward. Another benefit of the modular ramps is the stainless materials. The durability of the ramps is increased by the hand rails. The individual may engage the rails to prevent a runaway wheelchair on a steep slope.

7. Telescoping - the ramp has a descriptive name. Extensible, the telescoping ramp can be extended and retracted according to the situation and has oblique lines.

8. SUV/Van - A portable wheelchair ramp is designed specifically for the disabled to accommodate to the roofing, which is necessary for the disabled to be transported by SUV or van.

9. Shower/Platform - the disabled have to accommodate to the renewal of an existing house, but this can be overwhelming economically. However, some adjustments are unavoidable for security purposes. For example, showers are a dangerous endeavor, the disabled having little to no privacy if a caregiver is present. Thus, a shower, platform ramp is an appropriate response. The ramp allows the wheelchair to avoid the step and the platform allows the wheelchair to stay still under the stream of water. Now, the disabled can shower without lifting and gliding.

Accessibility is a frustrating dilemma for physically challenged individuals. They are denied even the simplest of pleasures because a wheelchair cannot be controlled when it comes to steps, steep slopes or thresholds. The fact that the disabled cannot get in a car adds insult to the injury or disability of the person in question. Life cannot be lived independently without movable ramps.

The Assembly of the Automatic Refill System in Aquariums

To begin with, you need to mount a water connection to the tap, which you just have to wrap in Teflon in order for it to be tight. The tap actually has no other purpose than to enable you to shut down the entire system later on.

The osmosis or purified water filter system can be connected to this faucet. The system should be mounted in the vicinity of the pressure lines. The solenoid valve, which is fitted between the tap and the osmosis plant (small tip, solenoid valves from the horticulture department are 50% cheaper than those for aquariums), should be equipped with a connection. When you buy the solenoid valve, it is essential to set the pressure in the water line at 3 bar, a pressure of 5 bar being ideal.

Once the solenoid valve is mounted, test the tightness of the supply line to the osmosis system, check whether the power is turned off and that no water is directed to the plant. You should also check whether the line is also completely sealed.

image of aquarium .Now, the connection of the solenoid valve is linked to the stream and the 3 pole switch is mounted so that you get a line of fresh water to refill the water change container. The output of the switch is then connected directly to the solenoid valve. Entrance A of the switch is for the outlet, which is used to fill the aquarium and the aquarium water filter in the future. The connection of terminal B is to be mounted later. First of all, check the function of the switch and the solenoid valve, which enables you to connect the plug into the socket. If the terminal is in position B, the solenoid valve should be closed. Now return to the refill mode. The solenoid valve should open as soon as you switch it to position A.

Now you have to perform the final assembly of the electrical and osmosis system. First, you cut the cord for the power connection of the solenoid valve to the desired length, so the distance to the aquarium is appropriate and the outlets are properly connected to the pumps. The next step is the cutting of the hose of the water line. A piece of tubing is used to connect the T-piece with the shut-off valves to the osmosis system.

The next step is the connection of the electricity cable to switch B. And the connection of the osmosis unit and the solenoid valve are closed. Turning on the tap of the tee can open the switch so the refill operation is carried out.

Now, it is time for a short break so that you get ready to move the refill hose and the power cord...

Once the hose and cable are laid, you start preparing the switch. The power supply for the switch-off, the power cord of the solenoid valve and the cable of the float switch are connected. Once this is done, both parts can be built but do not forget the power plug!

Now the float switch is mounted as well as a cable, which was previously associated with the electronics, so that there is an optimal water level at the surface. The supply tube is now in the aquarium and should be well secured. It should be secured with silicone, so this is connected firmly to the aquarium.

The system is now ready! You just have to activate the switch-off of the electronics and you are recommended to let the system run for about sixty seconds or longer. Open the float switch so that the proper water level is reached and let the system run for another sixty seconds.

Functioning

If the water level in the basin of the float switch closes and sends a control signal, the solenoid valve is opened. Switch off the solenoid valve and the water flow is interrupted after sixty seconds.

Press the power button in order to fill the water tank, switch on the valve on the tee and switch on the main switch, too. The filling device should not be operative as long as this barrel is filled!

This solution costs 200 euro, including the osmosis unit, which is very cheap and effective. The operation is maintenance-free, so you should only make sure that the float switch can be moved and that you eventually secure the entire system with a water level alarm, should something actually happen...

So, have a lot of fun and good luck with your aquarium.
